Cutting inverter delivers increased plasma cutting speeds

Kjellberg Finsterwalde has introduced the new CutFire 100i compact cutting inverter for plasma cutting with air. Power sources built from 2017 onward are equipped with the new machine torch Flash 101. Equipped with new consumables, the inverter increases cutting speeds and enhances piercing safety, the company reports.

The air that rotates around the plasma beam stabilizes it and makes it possible for users to pierce up to a maximum of 0.78 in. Air is used as swirl gas to help ensure better protection of the torch and effective cooling.

The cutting inverter cuts material thicknesses from 0.04 to 1.18 in. In addition to straight and profile cuts, the air-cooled inverter with the new torch also can be used for bevel cutting up to 30 degrees and marking with 20 amps.
