Hypertherm’s CorePlus gas connect console brings argon marking to XPR cutting systems

Hypertherm Associates has launched CorePlus, the gas connect console for XPR X-Definition cutting systems.

The console is positioned between the current Core and VWI (vented water injection) consoles and introduces argon gas capability for users that cut primarily mild steel. It offers argon marking, which improves marking quality compared to nitrogen-gas marking with the Core system. It also features argon-assist piercing, which allows users to pierce 10% thicker mild steel at 170 and 300 amps compared with standard production pierce capability.

The console offers full X-Definition capability on mild steel and entry-level capability on stainless steel and aluminum with nitrogen as its plasma gas. It can be fully controlled through the CNC.
