Saar-Hartmetall USA has announced that its line of hand-held electric and pneumatic beveling tools can produce a variety of radius bevel edges, including 0.07, 1/8, 0.16, ¼, and 5/16 in.
In the electric beveling tool line, the SMA-30E features a milling head design that uses dice-shaped inserts that have eight edges that can produce straight bevels up to 3/8 in. at 30, 45, or 60 degrees and 0.07-, 1/8-, and 0.16-in. radius bevels. The SMA-50E extends the straight bevel width to ¾ in. and bevel angles from 0 to 90 degrees. It also can create a ¼- and 5/16-in. radius beveled edge.
The SMA-P series of pneumatic portable beveling tools includes three models for producing straight and radius bevel edges in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Depending on the unit, these tools can produce beveled angles between 0 and 90 degrees and straight bevels up to 5/8 in. (3/4 in. for aluminum) and radii from 0.07 to 5/16 in.
