Mag drilling for the non-production metal fabricator

Hougen Mfg. recently released the HMD900 portable magnetic drill for general fabrication. It includes a hidden motor cord design that incorporates the cord into the drill’s motor casing and housing for safety and reduced maintenance.

The arbor system uses a 5/8-in. slot drive for rigidity, hole accuracy, spring slug ejection, and quicker use of accessories such as drill chucks and countersinks. A safety switch built into the base of the magnet shuts the motor off if the magnet disengages from the work surface.

The 27.7-lb. drill measures 15-1/8 by 6-3/4 by 11-3/8 in. and provides drilling capacities from 7/16 to 1-1/2 in. dia. and 2-in. depth of cut.
