Wilson Tool’s XSharp grinder sharpens punching tools automatically

Wilson Tool International offers the XSharp™ grinder for automated, hands-off tool sharpening. The operator enters the tool style, size, and grind amount into the touchscreen interface, and the machine completes the sharpening.

The grinder uses an automated height detection feature to locate the top of the tool before grinding. Height detection is accomplished with a precision gear and ball screw. Other features include a closed coolant system, automatic grinding wheel wear compensation, and an interlocking safety guard.

With a flexible range of chucks and adapters, the grinder can be used to sharpen all punch press tooling styles, including punches with shears. A user-friendly, multilanguage interface helps simplify machine operation. The small-footprint machine features a heavy-duty cast-iron frame.
