Stainless steel hinges feature integrated safety switches

J.W. Winco Inc. now offers 316L stainless steel GN 139.5 hinges with integrated safety switches. The RoHS-compliant hinges are designed for use in monitoring doors and covers of machines and equipment. Opening the door activates the switch contacts, causing an interruption in a protective circuit via broken contact (NC) while signaling the door opening by closing a normally open contact element (NO).

The contact blocks are fitted with positive-opening, slow-action contacts, as they are separated when activated and have no hysteresis. The angle at which the switching points are reached is adjustable.
