Behringer LPS-T vertical plate saw features optional NC measuring device

The new compact, heavy-duty LPS-T plate saw with vertical band saw blade is available from Behringer. It comes with a linear guided material table with a support surface that provides a cutting capacity of 50 in. long, 24.4 in. wide, and 24 in. high. T-slots in the table enable flexible positioning and clamping of the material.

A new feature is the optional NC measuring device, which helps simplify setup. The operator enters the required cutting depth, and the measuring device then enables automatic positioning. The material can be placed and aligned quickly.

Both the saw and the NC measuring device are controlled by an ergonomically designed BT65 touch control panel with a symbol-based menu system.

The saw can run either bimetal or carbide saw blades. It is driven with a 5.4-HP motor and runs over large, wearproof band wheels. All blade guidance parts are made of vibrationproof gray cast iron. Band saw changeover can be completed in about two minutes by a single operator without the aid of tools, the company states.
