Cordless shear modified for better ergonomics

TRUMPF TruTool S250 LiHD

The TruTool S250 LiHD 18V battery-powered shear from TRUMPF, which cuts through 0.10-in.-thick mild steel and 0.06-in.-thick stainless steel, has been made more ergonomic, even in energy-intense applications, reports the company.

The geometries of the tool’s cutting table and blade have been reworked. The blade is now a rhombus shape with a pointed wedge angle. This design helps ensure users have to apply very little force and can work for longer periods without getting tired. The tool also has been optimized to cut even 0.79-in. radii easily, the manufacturer states.

An extended cutting table protects the user’s hand during operation. It also prevents any tilting, enabling a fast and reduced-power feed rate.
