Coherent HighLight diode laser offers high output power in compact package

The Coherent HighLight DL HPS is an industrial diode laser that offers 1- to 4-kW output in a compact, self-contained package for metal cladding, heat treating, brazing, and welding.

The laser uses an all-in-one configuration, with the laser head, power supply, water chiller, and heat exchanger contained in a single 670- by 1,050- by 1,760-mm enclosure, making it suitable for space-constrained applications.

The system’s conduction-cooled laser diodes enable the closed-loop chiller to use distilled water rather than deionized water. The near-IR output is delivered through a detachable delivery fiber terminating in a choice of QBH or QD connector. A variety of processing heads, including zoom-focusing units, are available for tailoring the output size, shape, and intensity to the application’s requirements.
