EPOCH 6LT from Olympus offers corrosion gauge, flaw detector functionality

The new corrosion software module for the EPOCH® 6LT ultra-portable flaw detector expands the instrument’s capabilities and supports automatic probe recognition for all standard Olympus dual transducers. Users can plug in a supported probe, and the instrument is automatically configured for use.

The software allows users to switch between two modes: flaw detection and corrosion. In flaw detection mode, the unit scrubs for corrosion-related defects while maintaining traditional flaw detector gain linearity, gate control, and 60-Hz screen update rates. Corrosion mode enables users to record precise spot measurements of remaining part thickness to evaluate any areas of corrosion that are located during scanning.
