Hexagon RS6 laser scanner from Exact Metrology scans challenging surfaces

Exact Metrology has released the Hexagon RS6 laser scanner. It scans up to 1.2 million points/sec. with a scan rate of 300 Hz. Its laser stripe is 150 mm at midrange, and a visual guide provides real-time feedback for standoff distance.

According to the manufacturer, SHINE (systematic high-intelligence noise elimination) technology enables the scanner to maintain quality scans on challenging surfaces such as glossy black plastic automotive body parts and molded carbon-fiber components. This technology also allows users to scan 99% of parts without touching the scanner exposure.
