Mahr’s MarSurf GD series offers speed and flexibility for roughness measurement

Mahr Inc. has introduced the MarSurf GD series for surface roughness measurements and profile and waviness evaluations. According to the company, the unit increases the speed of all moving axes to reduce the cycle time of the measurement process, allowing improved throughput.

The drive units move the probe with positioning speed up to 200 mm/sec. All Z-axis columns on the measuring stands are fully CNC-capable with positioning speed of 50 mm/sec.

The measuring station is available in 140- and 280-mm sizes. The larger size allows for the measurement of applications that were previously impossible, including larger parts or a series of smaller parts staged together—all on the same machine.
