Mitutoyo America’s RTX Roundtracer Extreme measures roundness, contour, roughness

Mitutoyo America Corp. has released the RTX Roundtracer Extreme all-in-one measuring system that integrates roundness, contour, and surface roughness measurement functions on a single platform. This CNC machine measures a variety of workpieces with different geometries, such as camshafts and bearings.

A new motorized sliding axis, detector, and detector holder allow the machine to change the stylus angle, simplifying ID measurement of thick workpieces while preventing interference.

X and Z axes drive speeds reach a maximum of 100 mm/sec. with improved positioning accuracy and reduced positioning times compared with conventional models, the company states.
