Unit measures straightness of round pipes, rods in real time

Zumbach offers the Bendcheck system for measuring and monitoring the diameter and ovality of steel rods and pipes during production. Noncontact ODAC® laser gauges integrated in the production line supply all the data necessary for a correct straightness check in real time. Manual checks are eliminated.

The system supplies noncontact data sampling independent of oscillations; intuitive software for evaluation of high-speed data; and a display with diameter, absolute bend value, bend angle, and individual current measuring values.

A minimum of three measuring heads are used to measure straightness. The product is rotated along the longitudinal axis during the measuring process to detect all deviations in all directions.
