XRHRobotStar digital X-ray robot system from VisiConsult performs ultrafast inline inspection

VisiConsult has introduced the XRHRobotStar digital X-ray robot system. Its Automated Defect Recognition (ADR) and combination of a 3-D stereo-camera and automated X-ray system allow ultrafast inline inspection, and throughput can be increased by using a cluster of several systems.

A loading robot on the outside handles the incoming parts and distributes the inspected parts, while the robot on the inside has a C-arm with mounted X-ray components. The camera notes the offset toward the reference position for every part and allows the robot to track the part automatically. The acquired images are processed automatically by the ADR and checked for critical defects or other user-defined criteria.
