ESAB’s Hydrocut HDX combines waterjet cutting, plasma
- December 4, 2020
- Product Release
- Waterjet Cutting
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has introduced the Hydrocut HDX large-gantry waterjet cutting system for cutting over a work area measuring up to 18 ft. wide by 56 ft. long. The system can be equipped with up to four waterjet cutting heads, two oxyfuel stations, and two plasma stations, including the company’s DMX plasma beveler. It also can be equipped with marking tools for high-speed text or line marking, including plasma marking, pin stamping, and inkjet plate marking.
Two waterjet intensifier pump options are available. For faster speeds and lower per-part costs, the KMT Streamline PRO-III intensifier is available in 60- and 125-HP pump options. For standard cutting, the KMT Streamline SL-VI intensifier and Plus pump are available in 30, 50, or 100 HP.
The system is based on the manufacturer’s Suprarex gantry with dual-linear-rail Y-axis guiding system to deliver high dynamic accuracy. The gantry can reach a maximum speed of 1,000 IPM and can cut widths from 8 to 18 ft. and lengths up to 56 ft. Both the X and Y axes are protected with bellow covers to keep abrasive materials and moisture away from the rails.
The Vision T5 controller features a touchscreen interface, EasyShape part program generator, EasyNest option, and built-in process database to help users set up new cutting routines.
