AWS awards Welding Workforce Grants to seven schools

The AWS Foundation, Miami, has announced the winners of its Welding Workforce Grants, given to secondary, postsecondary, and welder training facilities that seek to enhance and improve their welding education programs. Each location receives up to $25,000 for facilities to make improvements, invest in capital items such as welding or metalworking equipment, or purchase/upgrade computers or computer-based training systems.

The following seven schools have received the grant:

• Bend Senior High School, Bend, Ore.
• Bridgerland Technical College, Logan, Utah
• Colonial Career and Technology Center, New Oxford, Pa.
• Front Range Community College, Fort Collins, Colo.
• Lynnes Welding Training, Ramsey, Minn.
• ReIgnite Hope, Gardena, Calif.
• Wallace Community College, Dothan, Ala.
