Lincoln Electric celebrates grand opening of new Welding Technology & Training Center

Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc., a provider of arc welding and cutting equipment, held an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of its new Welding Technology & Training Center at company headquarters in Cleveland. The event highlighted the company’s expanded educational offering and commemorated the centennial anniversary of its welding school.

The center focuses on training welding educators, engineers, and industrial professionals who are advancing welding in schools and industry globally. It provides advanced technical welding training for professionals, as well as educational curriculum, virtual reality and technology-assisted training tools, welding and cutting systems, and robotic cells that can be used to launch welding training at customers’ own facilities.

The 130,000-sq.-ft., $30 million facility houses 166 welding and cutting booths, a virtual reality training lab with 10 VRTEX® virtual reality welding simulators, seminar and welding school classroom space, and a 100-seat auditorium. The center will become an AWS-accredited testing facility later in 2018.
