Lincoln Electric offers workshops for welding educators

Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric® has announced its 2018 schedule of workshops for welding instructors.

The Welding Educator’s Workshop is a four-day seminar, with an optional fifth day, that is focused on best practices for instructional delivery of welding process education topics, including safety, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW. This class is a prerequisite for the Advanced Educator’s Workshops. Start dates in 2018 are July 9, Aug. 6, and Oct. 15.

Advanced Welding Educator's Workshops are a series of process expertise classes. Each seminar delves deeper into each arc welding process. The classes also focus on new technologies, classroom training aids, and the use of virtual reality welding simulators and other training systems. Start dates are July 30, Aug. 13, and Oct 29.

The Beyond the Booth™ Instructor Course is designed for instructors who have little or no formal teacher training. Current welding instructors also will learn new instructional techniques and ways to engage students at a higher level. Over the course of five days, participants will study learning styles, student motivation, effective teaching techniques, curriculum design and lesson planning, formative and summative assessments, lab and classroom management, and presentation skills. Start dates are June 11, July 16, and July 30.
