IWDC presents top award to Haun Welding Supply president

The Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC), Indianapolis, has presented the Bob Jackson Memorial Award to Mark Haun, president of Haun Welding Supply. The award recognizes Haun’s contributions to the organization, the industrial gas and welding Industry, and the surrounding greater Syracuse, N.Y., community.

Named for Bob Jackson, who played an integral part in forming the IWDC, the award is bestowed annually on a member who has gone above and beyond in supporting the organization and is considered the organization’s top award. Criteria include strong volunteer spirit, support of independents, being viewed internally and externally as a respected leader, engagement in the industry and community, and being family-centric.

Founded in 1958, Haun Welding Supply is a fourth-generation family business. Haun became president in 1990 when the company operated three locations. During his tenure, the company has expanded to 23 locations across five Northeast states.

In addition to building a strong business, contributing to IWDC's strategic planning process, and serving on IWDC's board and committees, Haun has given back to his surrounding community, serving as scoutmaster and church elder and volunteering for Young Life.
