ESAB’s Tweco MXH push/pull GMAW torches feed wire at distances up to 33 ft.

Tweco, an ESAB brand, has launched the MXH 315PP and MXH 420W PP push/pull torches. They maintain constant wire tension between two sets of drive rolls: one set in the feeder and one set in the torch. This design helps solve common feeding problems such as wire slippage, erratic arc performance, wire burning back to the contact tip, cold lap, and birdnesting at the feeder rolls.
The torches come in two versions, both of which feed 0.035- to 1/16-in.-dia. wires at speeds of 96 to 709 IPM and come in cable length options of 20 or 33 ft. The gas-cooled MXH 315PP has a rated output of 270 amps at 60% duty cycle with mixed gas and 310 amps at 60% with CO2. The water-cooled MXH 420W PP has a rated output of 400 amps at 100% duty cycle with mixed gas and 430 amps at 100% with CO2.
