Technology gives welders remote control of voltage at the weld joint

Miller has expanded its ArcReach™ remote control technology to three additional power sources for portable welding applications: the XMT® 350 CC/CV, XMT 450 CC/CV, and Dimension™ 650. The technology allows welding operators to adjust and set voltage at the weld joint without the use of control cords.

In addition, the technology’s Auto-Bind™ feature automatically establishes exclusive communication between the power source and wire feeder, using the existing weld cables, when the system powers up. There is no need to pull the trigger to establish the connection. The machine automatically selects the correct welding process based on polarity and indicates that polarity on the feeder.
