Wolfram’s Triconstant back-cast resistance welding electrodes optimize current transfer

Wolfram Industrie offers the Triconstant WHG3 resistance welding electrode. The electrode’s tungsten core is back-cast with copper or copper alloys, preventing the entrapment of air to help ensure uninterrupted current transmission and improved heat dissipation.

In addition, the electrode offers improved hardness and strength, electrical and thermal conductivity, heat resistance, erosion, adhesion tendency, and durability, according to the company. The electrode does not have a sandwich structure like other typical composite materials, since the combination is based on infiltration and surface wettability.
