Nuburu AO-150 high-power laser delivers 150 W of blue light

Nuburu offers the AO-150 high-power blue laser, which delivers 150 W of blue light. According to the company, the light is absorbed about 10 times better than infrared light in copper and most yellow metals, which leads to a wide process window for laser welding and allows both conduction mode and keyhole welding.

Because the welding process is under tighter control, the weld quality is enhanced, with no spatter and minimal voids. The high absorption leads to faster welding speeds h than infrared and ultrasonic welding, says the manufacturer.

The modular-design laser produces high-quality welds in stainless steel and aluminum and can be used to weld dissimilar metals.
