Vitronic adds new sensors to Viro WSI weld seam inspection system
Vitronic has added newly developed sensors to its Viro WSI automated weld seam inspection system for the automotive industry and its suppliers. With these sensors, the system is faster and more compact that its predecessor, reaching hard-to-access areas and diagnosing defects as small as 0.1 mm.
The sensors are available in two designs: a 30-mm-wide field of view for GMAW and brazed seams and a 14-mm-wide field of view for laser welded and brazed seams with their very finite seam geometries.
The interactive visualization stations display defective components and seams to the operator. The direct visualization on the line enables the system to intervene quickly in the upstream welding process.
