Schoeller Werk adds tube sawing center

Schoeller Werk, a manufacturer of longitudinally welded stainless steel tubes, has added an automatic sawing center at its facility in Hellenthal, Germany. The system is rated to the requirements of the automotive industry and includes an integrated tube end machining system.

The system is used to process tubes from 8 to 10 mm dia. They are cut with a double cut and then brought to the tube end machining center, which contains a fully automatic deburring station with defined chamfering of the tube ends.

Eight high-resolution cameras perform automated optical inspection of the tube ends. The tubes are washed directly inline with a double washing cycle, dried, and automatically packed.
