Sapphire printer from Velo3D enables designs with overhangs lower than 10 degrees

The Velo3D Sapphire printer employs metal laser powder bed fusion for additive manufacturing. It enables manufacturers to realize designs with overhangs lower than 10 degrees. The printer features an integrated in-situ process metrology that enables closed-loop melt pool control.

The printer handles large inner diameters up to 40 mm and high aspect ratios up to 500-to-1. The noncontact recoater eliminates the risk of part collision, protecting both the build and the recoater.

The unit offers complete documentation and traceability of system calibration and build performance.
