- Bending and Forming
- Product Release
Schwarze-Robitec offers the Platebender PB series bending machines for plates and Sectionbender SB series bending machines for sections. The plate bending machine processes plates with a material thickness from a fraction of an inch up to 4.92 in. They are equipped optionally with three or four...
Machine bends and cuts tube in one process
- By Eric Lundin
- Mar 14, 2014
- Tube and Pipe Fabrication
- Article
A typical bending machine process is feed-bend-feed-bend, or maybe feed-bend-feed- rotate-bend, until the feedstock is used up. However, this isn’t the end of the fabrication process, which includes a subsequent cutting step. The cut often means waste, especially for short-length parts, and the problem is compounded when the volume is high or the material is expensive. Read about how one bender manufacturer changed the process to feed-bend-separate-feed-rotate-bend-separate.

Schwarze-Robitec adds drilling, milling center
- Jun 25, 2013
- Machining
- News Release
Tube bending machine manufacturer Schwarze-Robitec has invested 1 million euro in its new drilling and milling center at its headquarters in Cologne, Germany. In one clamping, the system can machine up to 30 tons of heavy components on five sides. The machine is operated from a cockpit, with...
Freeform bending process handles large radii
- Jun 6, 2013
- Bending and Forming
- Product Release
Schwarze-Robitec has developed a freeform bending concept for all-electric tube bending machines in the CNC 40 E TB MR to CNC 160 E TB MR series. The technology allows the creation of large bending radii and variable-radius paths on tubes and profiles. The system achieves high repeat accuracy...
Tube bending machine produces small radii for shipbuilding, offshore plant construction
- Apr 22, 2013
- Bending and Forming
- Product Release
Schwarze-Robitec offers the CNC 320 HD tube bending machine. The unit allows extremely small bending radii (1.5 x D), even for large tubes and pipes with very thin walls and diameters up to 12.75 in. The machine is suitable for use in the shipbuilding industry, as there generally is little...

- Apr 18, 2013
- Bending and Forming
- News Release
Schwarze-Robitec, Cologne, Germany, has named Trilogy Machinery Inc., Belcamp, Md., as the exclusive North American representative for its tube and pipe cold bending systems for the automotive, shipbuilding and offshore, chemical, and power plant industries. In addition to customer advice and...
Optical measuring system integrates into tube bending tool
- Dec 3, 2012
- Testing and Measuring
- Product Release
Schwarze-Robitec has developed the Springmatic optical measuring system. Integrated into a bending tool, it measures bent tubes directly while tensioned on the bending machine and either starts the required bending process or saves the correction value for subsequent bends. Tube processors can...
Cold bending machine processes large quantities with short setup times
- Oct 22, 2012
- Bending and Forming
- Product Release
Schwarze-Robitec offers the CNC 220 HD MW tube and profile cold bending machine. It is designed for bending large quantities of many different tube types, such as for shipbuilding, chemical industry, or power plant construction applications. Using multiple bending tools, the machine processes...
Tips for buying a second-hand bending machine
- By Hartmut Stöhr, Bert Zorn, and Jürgen Korte
- Sep 10, 2012
- Tube and Pipe Fabrication
- Article
The second-hand market can be a good source for a used bender, but buyers must be careful. A thorough evaluation of the bender’s capabilities and condition is necessary before making a purchase. Because modern benders are complex and sophisticated, the evaluation is best carried out by the manufacturer, not the buyer. Another option is buying a reconditioned machine from the manufacturer. However, depending on the bending needs, a new bender might be the only viable option.
Update from Germany
- By Eric Lundin
- Jun 13, 2012
- Shop Management
- Article
Interviews with several TUBE exhibitors revealed that the energy industry remains the biggest driver in the tube and pipe industry. The opportunities aren’t just in oil and gas, but also wind and even nuclear, despite the Fukushima incident. Meanwhile, a few vendors have come up with machines and processes that reduce tube and pipe consumption and waste, helping the industry deal with fluctuating metals prices.
Separator integrated into bending tool to reduce tube cutting waste
- Apr 23, 2012
- Bending and Forming
- Product Release
Schwarze-Robitec has developed a new separator integrated directly into the bending tool for bending and separating in one stage. To allow bending of short components, the parts to be bent generally are extended artificially with span and supporting lengths. After bending, the additional...
