High-speed system welds dissimilar metals
Amada Miyachi America Inc. has announced the availability of the updated LMWS pulsed fiber laser welding system, a compact unit designed for lean manufacturing. The system features a high-power, high-speed laser, available in 20- to 70-W powers for welding dissimilar metals, including copper to aluminum, aluminum to stainless and steel, and copper to stainless steel, and marking welded parts.
When paired with the LMF20-SM pulsed fiber laser welding machine, the system provides 20-W precision welding for small features. Paired with the LMF70-HP 70-W pulsed fiber laser, the system can weld thin metals up to 0.010 in.
