SSAB introduces Strenx 1100 Plus structural steel for lifting and advanced structures

SSAB has introduced Strenx® 1100 Plus, a new, hot-rolled, high-strength strip steel. According to the company, the steel nearly eliminates weld weaknesses because the strength, elongation, and impact toughness properties of the welded area meet the minimum guarantees of the parent material.

The combination of strength and toughness of the welded and heat-affected area allows the design to be based on the same minimum static strength for the entire application, depending on the design rules.

The material is suitable for lifting equipment, such as cranes, as well as advanced structures that require matching strength in the welds.
