ABB E-mobility

ABB E-mobility opened a new, multi-million dollar plant in S.C. to produce up to 10,000 EV charges per year.

ABB E-mobility, a leader in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, has opened a new, multimillion-dollar manufacturing facility in Columbia, S.C. It will be able to produce up to 10,000 chargers per year, from 20 to 180 kW in power, which are suitable for public charging, school buses, and fleets.

The operation builds on the company’s existing U.S. manufacturing operations, which produce transit bus chargers from 150 to 450 kW.

EV chargers produced in South Carolina will meet the Federal Highway Administration’s proposed Buy America Act framework for EV chargers, as well as requirements of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.
