L.K. Machinery, SAPP Group open tech center in Indiana

Die-cast production machinery manufacturer L.K. Machinery Inc. and SAPP Group, a die-cast tooling manufacturer specializing in die-cast die production, have opened the L.K./SAPP Advanced Casting Technology (ACT) Center in Edinburg, Ind., a collaborative investment in future innovations, solutions, and processes in die casting machine technology.

The multimillion-dollar facility is a hub for developing and testing of new production-capable dies before they are launched into production. Target products include large automotive structural components like torque boxes, pillars, and structural nodes. Powertrain components such as engine blocks and transmission cases will be developed for automotive OEMs and Tier I casting suppliers.
