GM to transition Spring Hill, Tenn., plant to build EVs

General Motors Co., Warren, Mich., has announced that its Spring Hill, Tenn., assembly plant will begin the transition to become the company’s third vehicle manufacturing site to produce electric vehicles. The Cadillac Lyriq will be the first EV produced at Spring Hill, joining production of the Cadillac XT6 and XT5.

The $2 billion investment at Spring Hill will expand the paint and body shops and upgrade machines, conveyors, controls, and tooling.
