SAF (Southern Aluminum Finishing Co. Inc.), Atlanta, has announced that John McClatchey, Ph.D., will retire from the position of president Sept. 1. Having served as president since 1988, McClatchey plans to work as CFO for at least another two years and will continue to serve on the board of directors.
James and Penn McClatchey will each serve as co-CEO, with James taking responsibility for sales, IT, and finance and Penn overseeing operations, engineering, and marketing.
Under John McClatchey's leadership, the company began manufacturing wall panel systems, column covers, Perimeter Systems roofing-edge trims, and coil anodizing. SAF opened a 100,000-sq.-ft. fabrication and fluorocarbon coating facility in Villa Rica, Ga., in 2003 and a 70,000-sq.-ft. operation in Redding, Calif., in 2006.
SAF is a nationwide aluminum extrusions and sheet distributor, aluminum fabricator, and aluminum finisher specializing in Kynar® painting and architectural anodizing. The company also distributes column covers, architectural panels, and commercial roofing trim to architectural specifiers, glazing contractors, and other industries.
