SteelBenchmarker™reported that the hot-rolled band (HRB) world export price for July 24 was $608 per ton, FOB the port of export, down slightly from the July 10 figure of $587. The HRB price in the U.S., however, increased $7 per ton, or 1% to $698 per ton, from the July 10 figure of $691 per ton.
The four benchmark prices for hot-rolled band included in the report are:
- U.S. — $698 per metric ton, FOB the mill (up $7 per ton, or 1%, from $691 two weeks ago, and up $80 per ton, or 12.9% from April 10).
- China — $373 per metric ton, ex-works (down $36 per ton, or 8.8%, from $409 two weeks ago, and down $29 per ton, or 7.2% since April 10).
- Western Europe — $631 per metric ton, ex-works (up $35 per ton, or 5.9%, versus $596 per ton on July 10, and up $3 per ton or 0.3%, versus $629 on June 26).
- World Export Price — $581 per metric ton, FOB the port of export (down $6 per ton, or 1%, versus $587 on July 10, but up $64 per ton, or 12.4% since April).
Twice each month, SteelBenchmarkerpublishes steel benchmark prices for hot-rolled band, cold-rolled coil, rebar, and standard plate in the U.S., Western Europe, mainland China, and the world export market.
