Dallan S.p.a. opens U.S. sales office

- Roll Forming
During a 40th anniversary celebration at its headquarters in Castelfranco, Italy, in mid-March, Dallan S.p.a. announced the opening of a U.S. sales office in Brooklyn, N.Y. The manufacturer of coil-fed fabricating systems has been selling equipment into the U.S. for 20 years, but Dallan America Corp. is its first permanent office in North America.
“Initially it will simply operate as a sales office, but we also are going to implement technical support and a spare parts service,” said Andrea Dallan, the company’s CEO. “We know we will need time to make the new company completely operational, and this is an investment that will allow us to increase our sales volume in the U.S. for roll forming, punching, and laser machines.”
Dallan added that the company hopes that this will be the first of more offices to be opened in its longest-served markets. Currently the machine tool builder has more than 450 customers and 3,000 machines installed in 80 countries. Last year it had sales of $39.5 million.
As part of the anniversary celebration, Sergio Dallan, the founder of the company, recounted starting the business in 1978 in the basement of his mother-in-law’s house when he was 33 years old. In 1984, with the last of his and wife Maria’s savings, they manufactured their first compact roll former for an exhibition in Bologna. They sold that unit, and with a new focus to build machinery for thin-gauge applications, the business took off.
“We have been able to do all this because I was supported by a compact and determined team,” said Sergio Dallan. “This is the human touch. Our customers always tell us that what makes the difference in Dallan is the quality of our people.”
Also as part of the festivities, attendees got to see the new Dallan corporate video titled “The Human Touch.”
