Solar Atmospheres confers honorary title on semiretired CEO

Solar Atmospheres, Souderton, Pa., a provider of vacuum heat-treating, vacuum brazing, and vacuum carburizing services, has awarded the title of CEO emeritus to Roger A. Jones, FASM. Jones has announced his semiretirement as the company’s CEO, culminating 45 years of leadership and service to the vacuum heat-treating industry.

A graduate of Hocking Technical College, Jones began his professional career in the heat-treating industry at Abar Corp. Following that, he joined Vacuum Furnace Systems Corp. In 1983 Jones assisted the founding of Solar Atmospheres Inc., serving as vice president until 1993. He was promoted to president in 2001 and to CEO in June 2017.
