Ladd Hall, executive vice president of flat-rolled products for Nucor Corp., will give a keynote presentation, "Successfully Navigating an Unpredictable Steel Market," on Thursday, March 8, at the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association Intl.’s (FMA’s) 2018 Annual Meeting. His presentation will identify strategies for business leaders to effectively steer their companies through changing market conditions.
Hall’s valuable insight into the steel and metals industry is based on his 34 years of experience with Nucor Corp. Nucor, with headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., is North America’s leading producer of steel and related products and North America's largest recycler.
Following Ladd’s presentation, he will be joined by fellow experts to provide insight into the current state of the steel industry and where it is going in the future:
- Donald R. McNeeley, PhD, is president/CEO of Chicago Tube & Iron Co., a steel distribution and fabrication company with headquarters in Chicago and 10 subsidiaries. In 2011 McNeeley was the architect of a merger of his company with Olympic Steel Inc. The combined forces of $1.5 billion in sales and 30 locations position the company as one of the top 10 in the nation.
- John Packard is president/CEO of "Steel Market Update." He has been an active participant in the North American flat-rolled steel business since 1977. He has held positions in the service center, steel mill, and trading company segments of the flat-rolled steel industry. Packard founded Steel Market Update Inc. in August 2008, although the newsletter has been produced since 2004 when it was used to convey market information to his customers.
