The Armored Group expands U.S. operations with North Carolina campus

The Armored Group LLC (TAG), a manufacturer of armored vehicles in Phoenix, has acquired IF Armor Intl. LLC and its facility in Shelby, N.C., expanding its manufacturing capabilities.

The main facility sits on 110 secured acres with two independently alarmed and surveilled buildings, a live-fire testing range, and a vehicle mobility test field. TAG Shelby will have 227,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space with a 40-ton press brake, 246-ft. laser cutter, and paint facility, as well as an additional 70,000-sq.-ft. paint and coatings facility in Forest, N.C.

This expansion is expected to create more than 100 jobs.
