USA Science & Engineering Festival to feature astronauts, Nobel laureates, and celebrities

The third USA Science & Engineering Festival is scheduled for April 26-27, 2014, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The free event, presented by Lockheed Martin, is similar to an art, music, or food festival, but focuses on science and engineering.
The festival will include more than 3,000 hands-on activities and more than 150 stage shows. Participants also can learn about scholarships, internships, and jobs in the science and engineering fields.
Scheduled to appear are:
- Bill Nye the Science Guy
- "Dirty Jobs" host Mike Rowe
- Grammy Award-winning They Might Be Giants
- Moneyball's Paul DePodesta
- Miss California and Miss America runner-up Crystal Lee
- National Geographic Brain Games illusionist Apollo Robbins
- Basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar
- Science Channel's Chris Hackett
- Extreme athletes Maya Gabeira, Chris Lieto, and Tao Berman
- "Design Squad" host Nate Ball
- "Dancing with the Stars" and "Wonder Years" actress Danica McKellar
- Tech evangelist David Pogue
- Futurist Michio Kaku
- Nobel laureates
- NASA and private space flight astronauts
- Titanic explorer David Gallo
