UltiMaker’s PET carbon fiber offers high strength, heat resistance for 3D printing with S series units

UltiMaker now offers PET carbon fiber composite material for S series 3D printers. According to the company, the material offers superior strength, high heat resistance, and high chemical resistance, making it suitable for applications such as manufacturing tools, jigs and fixtures, and end-use parts and producing engineering prototypes.

By annealing parts printed from this material, engineers can achieve a temperature resistance of up to 181 degrees C and increase strength by up to 30% and stiffness by up to 10%.

With its low moisture sensitivity, the material requires limited drying. When stored in the manufacturer’s Material Station, it remains well-conditioned for reliable, high-quality printing, the company states.
