Carbide-tipped saw blades’ tooth pattern generates seven distinct chips

Simonds Saw has introduced QUAD 7™ carbide-tipped band saw blades for production cutting operations in steel service centers, foundries, and aerospace applications. The blades are suitable for alloy; high-chrome alloy; INCONEL® and other nickel-based alloys; titanium block and plate; stainless steels; and mold, tool, and bearing steels.
The blades feature a positive rake angle, four-tooth pattern that produces seven distinct chips. This provides high material penetration for faster cutting in production sawing alloy applications, the manufacturer reports.
The blades are available in five widths--3/4 by 0.050 in., 1-1/2 by 0.050 in., 2 by 0.062 in., 2-5/8 by 0.062 in., and 3-1/8 by 0.062 in.--and are shipped in 150-ft. coils. Variable tooth pitch options include 2.5 to 3.5, 2 to 3, 1.9 to 2.1, 1.4 to 1.8, 1.1 to 1.4, and 0.9 to 1.1 teeth per inch. Blades are furnished with plastic capping to protect teeth against damage in transit and handling.
