Developed for coating and lining storage tanks, piping, scrubbers, and processing equipment, Master Bond EP21ARHT resists chemicals, fuel, and acids. It can withstand immersion to 96 to 98 percent sulfuric acid and 20 percent hydrochloric acid for more than a year.
This two-component epoxy cures at room temperature with minimal shrinkage, or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. Once fully cured, it produces a bond strength greater than 2,200 PSI. The epoxy can be thermally cycled over temperatures from -60 to 400 degrees F. Its dielectric strength is 440 volts/mil, and its coefficient of thermal expansion is 40-45x10-6 in./in./degrees C.
The epoxy bonds well to metals, ceramics, glass, and many plastics. It offers a noncritical 2-to-1 mix ratio by weight. It is color-coded, with part A being clear and part B amber.
