Power straightener processes high-yield materials

Coe Press Equipment has introduced its upgraded series 250 power straightener. Featuring design enhancements to enable processing of a wider range of materials, including AHSS, the straighteners offer a 30+ percent improvement in strength and rigidity because of increased roll journal diameter and radius and increased bearing load capacity, states the manufacturer.
The company has expanded the size availability of the new straighteners, which can now handle coil widths from 1.0 to 54 in., thicknesses from 0.010 to 0.187 in., and weights up to 20,000 lbs. Material capability includes cold- and hot-rolled steel, galvanized, stainless, prepainted, aluminum, and AHSS. These straighteners are intended for pairing with the manufacturer’s SERVOMaster™ series 1 and series 2 roll feeds.
The straighteners provide AC variable-speed drive with digital control and worm gear adjustment of the upper straightener rolls. Additional modifications to the design include enhanced outboard support, new idler shafts, and improved backup design.
