The MicroMet 6000 series, a new class of dead-weight microindentation Vickers/Knoop hardness testers, is available from Buehler.
The unit's hybrid user interface combines a touchscreen LCD for setup and data entry with hard-switch buttons for daily operation. A tabbed menu structure enables users to access any setting with three clicks or less. From the USB data port located on the front of the tester, users can export data to a flash memory drive in common formats. A USB on the back of the tester enables integration with the company's OmniMet MHT software for automated testing.
New, custom-designed optics, coupled with LED illumination, deliver a sharp, clear image of the test surface. Users can choose a traditional ocular eyepiece with digital filars or digital imaging with OmniMet MHT software.
Used for quality control and metallurgical research with dead-weight loads from 0.22 to 2.2 lbs., the unit also features a 4.4-lb. option.
