Welding HACKS: Welding screens with no loose ends

Welding screens

Welding screens with the feet positioned slightly inward to get a tight, arc-free corner.

Most welding screens have feet at the ends, which makes it difficult to form a leaktight, square corner.

I built these welding screens and positioned the feet slightly inward to get a tight, arc-free corner. I kept some distance between the floor and the bottom of the screen to prevent sparks and slag from getting trapped and smoldering against the canvas.

The screen is bolted to the frame so it can be replaced as needed. We have used these screens for several years now and they have proven quite effective.
