ESAB completes transition to Exaton brand name for alloys
- February 6, 2020
- News Release
- Consumables
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products, Annapolis Junction, Md., has finalized its transition to the Exaton™ brand name for all welding filler metals involved with its 2018 acquisition of Sandvik Welding Consumables.
For the North American region, former Sandvik stainless consumables are now Exaton, followed by the product’s AWS/ASME classification. The nickel-based consumables previously sold under the Sandvik and Sanicro names have been renamed Exaton, followed by the AWS/ASME classification.
The change affects product names on labels, packaging, certificates, and MSDS only. “The parameters and performance of Exaton consumables remains the same, so there is no need to requalify weld procedures or specifications,” said Henrik Calander, ESAB’s general manager specialty alloys.
The alloy portfolio includes solid welding wire and rods, flux-cored wire, covered electrodes, strip electrodes, and fluxes.
