Metabo Corp. now offers its expanded Choice Cuts line of thin cutting wheels matched to specific applications.
The expanded line features four wheel types with a wider selection of job-matched abrasive grains and engineered resin bond formulas to enhance cutting speeds and wheel life.
Suitable for cutting steel and ferrous metals, such as smaller diameter rods, rebar, and angle iron, the Original Slicers are 0.040-in.-thick cutting wheels. These aluminum oxide wheels have the flexibility necessary for flush cutting.
The 1/16-in. LongLife Original Slicer wheels are engineered for extended life cutting of thin wall steel and stainless steel sheet metal as well as thin wall pipe and tube.
Slicer-Plus high-performance cutting wheels are 0.045 in. thick with the ability to perform aggressive, cool cutting on all metals. Specially-coated aluminum oxide blended grains and a proprietary resin bond create wheels ideal for the toughest applications including thicker sectional cuts in steels, stainless steels, heavy rebar, harder metals, heavy wall pipe and angle iron.
The Super-Slicers are 0.045 in. thick and feature a specially formulated blend of high-performance abrasive grain for optimum life and cutting speed. These wheels are suitable for extreme applications, such as thicker stainless steel, high-tensile alloy, INCONEL® alloy, chrome, HASTELLOY®, and other hard metals.
All wheels in the line are available in 4.5 in. by 7/8 in. and 6 in. by 7/8 in. diameters. Both the Original Slicer and Slicer-Plus are available in Type 1 and Type 27 versions, while the Super-Slicer is offered as a Type 1 cutting wheel. Each features two full layers of high-strength fiberglass for added user safety.
