Zumbach Electronics provides profile measuring system to Hoesch Schwerter Profile
Zumbach Electronics - Switzerland has provided a PROFILEMASTER® SPS 800-S8 profile measuring system to the Germany-based company Hoesch Schwerter Profile GmbH for use on its hot rolling mill. Hoesch, part of the Italian Calvi Holding group, is a manufacturer of customized steel profiles.
The profile measuring system has eight cameras that can be equipped modularly so that any shape can be captured and measured. It handles up to 5,734,400 points/sec. and offers a sampling rate of 350 to 500 full profiles/sec.
Features include a special mode for roundness and shape fault detection. The system can detect process problems at an early stage, operate in temperatures up to 2,192 degrees F, log all production data for the QC department, and network with a higher-level system.
