Inflatable purging system withstands temperatures to 1,400 degrees F

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® has developed the HotPurge™ inflatable tube and pipe purging system for heat-treated chrome steel pipe joints, handling temperatures as high as 1,400 degrees F.

The purge can be continued safely for up to 24 hours while preheating, welding, and postweld heat-treating with the purge system remaining in place.

Each purging unit is manufactured as standard with PurgeGate® to prevent over-inflation of the dams while allowing the increased flow to achieve a lower oxygen level if required.

Each system incorporates a central band for positioning inside the pipe. This RootGlo® band illuminates inside the dark pipe for up to 20 hours after 10 min. of exposure to daylight.
